In the brown water,
Thick and silver-sheened in the sunshine,
Liquid and cool in the shade of the reeds,
A pike dozed.
Lost among the shadows of stems
He lay unnoticed.
Suddenly he flicked his tail,
And a green-and-copper brightness
Ran under the water.

Out from under the reeds
Came the olive-green light,
And orange flashed up
Through the sun-thickened water.
So the fish passed across the pool,
Green and copper,
A darkness and a gleam,
And the blurred reflections of the willows on the opposite bank
Received it.

I, fish_face, do my part to refine Tulsa

I plunge through the dense foliage of the magnificent Tulsa Airport :-)

On the airplane on my way to Minnesota, I heed a call of nature

The moving sidewalk was especially helpful on the way to the baggage claim. I stood on the "stand" side.

Don't even think about it.

Almost there!

On my way back to Ashley's house, I took some time out to do a little windsurfing.

I admired some of the mantle decorations.

...and some of Ashley's collectibles.

I took a nice warm shower to unwind from my long day of travel...Ashley refused to join me. :-(

Ashley introduced me to her mother.

I got in the Christmas spirit with a lovely holiday wreath.

I went a little bananas at the grocery store. ;-)

I hung out with the salmon and lutefisk.

I sympathized with my poor, poor frozen friends. :-(

In keeping with local regulations, I indeed had to leave my gun at home when I visited the Mall of America.

I was in a dramatic mood, and contemplated the precipice from the parking garage.

Yesterday I was supposed to go to a Writer's Club meeting and recite a poem for everyone (I had to memorize it because I couldn't hold the paper up) but Ashley forgot to bring me. But that's OK, I still love you, geniusash!

In other news, I tried to cuddle and be affectionate with the_codeman last night during the movie. But he was like "What are you doing?!" He seemed really mad at me. That was so mean of him, I was just trying to be nice! Fish have feelings too.

Any suggestions for my Halloween costume? I sometimes have trouble dressing up, because of my...unique body shape, which doesn't lend itself to clothes staying put.

I really wish someone had told me about the House mixer. I missed the chance to see all you guys's rooms.

I've only seen Ashley and Katie and P.J.'s rooms upstairs, and I've also seen Jordan's two different rooms downstairs. But I want to see the entire house! I'm a travelling fish, and I'm so friendly! Please invite me into your rooms sometime, everybody, so we can hang out! :-)
